Review: Saalt Menstrual Cup 🖤

Hi lovelies,

More importantly HAPPY NEW YEAR 🎉 I hope you are all having an amazing start to 2020. To kick off this year I wanted to start by doing more reviews & makeup looks, two things I really enjoy. If there’s any specific looks or reviews you’d like to see then let me know in the comments.

Anyway, at the end of 2019 I decided I was going to try a menstrual cup, I had been thinking about it for a while but after watching a couple of YouTube videos (I’ll link them below) I decided to take the plunge & it’s safe to say I’m so glad I did.

The saalt menstrual cup is the only one I’ve tried & I’m very happy with it. It is very easy to use & super comfortable. I wish I had tried one sooner, I highly recommend you trying a menstrual cup at least once & I guarantee it’ll change your whole mindset around periods.

I got the regular size soft saalt cup for myself but there are sizing guides to suit everyone. The videos linked below go in depth about them so I highly recommend you watch those. I also believe that this cup has helped my cramps, I don’t get them while I use this so that’s definitely a bonus!!

I 100% feel a lot cleaner & more confident while wearing this as well, especially now we’ve started taking Rylie swimming more.

I love the fact I can leave it for 12 hours as it is non toxic silicone so it’s way safer than using tampons & much less of a chance of getting toxic shock syndrome.

Lash Love 🖤

Just a quick one, this week has been crazy! Wednesday I qualified as a Classic Lash Extension Technician! I’m so excited to be expanding my business😍

Here’s my first go at classic lash extensions, didn’t quite get finished due to complications with my model but we got a beautiful, natural finish to the lashes.

Life update 🖤

Hi lovelies,

I realised I haven’t actually shared anything about my course that I have been doing for the last few months! I am currently studying Makeup Artistry Level 3.

So far I have completed my henna, camouflage makeup & body art assessments! I’ll put picture of all below, let me know what you think 🙂 I’m definitely proud of what I have achieved so far!

Both of these designs I did as my assessment pieces for henna. I really love how it came out & through this course I have found something else I love doing, I am carrying on with henna & making it part of my beauty business! EXCITING! 😁

I created this dream catcher as I’ve always loved them as tattoos. I actually did this on my fiances foot, he really loved it! 🙂

My next assessment pieces were camouflage, we had to cover bruises, hyper & hypo pigmentation, scars & redness. I’m not going to put images as they aren’t that exciting but it was fun to learn this as a new skill, we also got a camouflage kit which will really help me for the future.

I have just finished my body art assessment pieces, the first we had to design a Mexican/sugar skull design. This was actually really fun! Here’s the design I came up with…

The second assessment piece was a fantasy body art, for this we could literally do anything as long as it included the face, neck and limb!

I chose to do Raven VS. Mystique, since I don’t really have much experience with body painting, well non at all! I was SUPER pleased with the finished result! (I had only practiced this one other time beforehand!)

I’m absolutely loving every second of this course, it’s been so fun to learn lots of new skills, meet new people & finally be doing something I actually REALLY LOVE!!

Next month I’m also doing a lash extensions course as well so that’s super exciting too!

The inside defintiely reflects the packaging & I think the colour selections are divine 😍 This palette attracted me as it’s totally different to anything I own, I don’t own many bles and reds so this was a winner. I absolutely adore all of these & I’ll definitely be doing loads more looks soon!

Weekend in Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿❤

Hi beauties,

Wow!! What a hectic but fun few days!🙂 The plan was to get some posts scheduled, but of course that didn’t happen! So I thought it’s only right to share with you our little weekend away! 🙂

Rylies first & longest car journey to Cardiff to see friends. From where we live it’s a good 5 & a half hour journey. We picked up Rylies brother & sister from school & headed straight to Wales on Friday 28th September. All 3 kids slept quite a lot of the way. Of course we stopped at services about half way as we all needed feeding.

This photo was taken as we were going on to the motorway from York. There was a kite festival on that day.

Once we arrived to Wales it was nearly midnight. We were staying with friends so we had a chat & went to bed. We were all knackered by this point!

Saturday 29th September

We had a chilled morning then went to St Fagans National Museum of History. It was a lovely day so we all enjoyed the walk round.

It’s an open air museum showing historical buildings & lifestyle. It’s crazy to see how much things have changed.

For the rest of the day we just enjoyed being away & seeing our friends as we don’t see them often. The kids played & seemed to really enjoy it until Sunday afternoon came when we had to leave for home.

We really enjoyed our little weekend away! Its nice just to get away for a couple of days sometimes & get a chance of scenery🙂

#MakeupAndASmile Campaign ♡

The #MakeupAndASmile campaign was started by the beautiful Sophie of Life of Little Things blog. I wanted to show support by helping to raise awareness of this subject as until you go through this or know someone that has, you can’t really understand how people suffering from an illness really feels when you say they look ‘fine’.

#MakeupAndASmile So many people are affected by mental & physical illness now a days. Please don’t judge a book by its cover! Looks can be very deceiving.

Someone may look or say they’re ‘fine’ but inside they’re probably screaming out. Wanting to tell the world how they feel but not knowing how to put it in words. Or worrying that they’d think they’re stupid. Let me tell you, your feelings are not ‘stupid’. It’s human to have emotions, but sometimes they get the better of us, especially if daily life is made harder for whatever reason!
Illnesses, which ever form they take, are all as serious! Please speak out & reach out for help if you’re struggling, there’s so much help & support out there for you.

YOU are worthy. YOU are great. YOU are unique. There’s only one YOU so let it be the best you, you can be!😘💖

Yes. I’m back!♡

Hi beauties.

First off, I’m sorry I’ve been away for so long but life has been hectic. I’ve been working so much & with starting a new job it just got the better of me.

Update
So on Christmas day myself and the other half got engaged. I don’t think it has sunk in even now, but it’s definitely the best Christmas present I’ve ever received!! 😊
